The Pulse takes you inside one of our favorite local bars & restaurants The Grant Grill at the US Grant Hotel downtown. First, we sit at the bar with Uber mixologist Jeff Josenhans as he tells us about his new drink menu rolling out January 22nd. It is a citrus cocktail menu featuring 3 new drinks using local citrus fruits. Watch Jeff mix up a “Holiday in Cambodia.”

Then we interview Jeff, who is also the Director of Venues at the Grant Grill. We learn about some of the Grant’s fascinating history. Opening it’s doors in 1951, The Grant Grill started out as a power lunch spot men who were movers & shakers in San Diego. Originially, the bar was a spot for “men only” until 1969, when a group of female attorneys got fed up and orchestrated a sit in.

Jeff tells us about the renovations to the Grill, and what inspires him to mix up his unique signature cocktails. We also learn about his innovative Cocktails Sur Lie method, that combines the beer & Champagne method of fermentation to create a bottle-conditioned cocktail.

Jeff gives us a sneak peek of his new citrus cocktail method and tells us about their new Sunday Brunch Menu which includes all you can eat waffles! Yummy! You have to check this place out, see why it was named “Hotel Bar of the Year!” it is truly one of my favorite bars in San Diego!
