We were so excited to be invited to this exlusive event at the Sundance Film Festival. Stella Artois hosted an intimate panel discussion with Water.org’s co-founders, Matt Damon and Gary White, along with Todd Allen Global VP of Stella Artois.
There are 663 million people in the world with no access to clean water. It seems impossible to believe since water is so readily accessible to us in the United States.
It was amazing to hear about the passion Matt has for ending the global water crisis. Matt has traveled to Zambia and spent time with families and children that have no access to clean water. Mothers in these areas have to decide between giving their kids water that is not clean and having them succumb to dysentery or to have them go without water.
Gary has come up with a water credit program that is a finance program for families living in the slums in developing countries and enables them to use a credit to gain access to clean water. The loans are then paid off.

The ‘Buy a Lady a Drink’ campaign was first launched in 2015 to utilize Stella Artois’ global footprint to help positively impact this important issue. Water has played an important role in Stella’s 600- year heritage, and is an essential ingredient in the Stella Artois that is brewed today.
Last year the campaign focused on women’s long journeys for clean water. This year, the campaign showcases the positive impact that access to clean water can have, while inspiring consumers to leave a positive mark on the world. The 2015 ‘Buy a Lady a Drink’ program helped Water.org provide more than 290,000 people in the developing world with 5 years of clean water.
Proceeds from sale of exclusive, limited-edition Chalices help provide five years of clean water for one person in the developing world.
Consumers can learn more about the campaign, and how they can leave their mark, by visiting www.BuyALadyADrink.com.
