Between Two Pines, Idyllwild, CA
On Episode 4 of the Cindy Chronicles, I really wanted to address the whole work life balance thing. When I quit my job in the corporate world to focus solely on The Pulse, I really thought I would have more time for me, and more time in general being that I was working for myself. I found that I actually worked more hours and ended up putting myself last on the priority list. Did this happen to you as an entrepreneur? It’s like you are living the dream being your own boss, then one day you wake up so tired, with dark circles under your eyes, thinking, when is the last time I did something for myself?
I had been burning the candle at both ends and I was exhausted. Don’t get me wrong, I feel 100% blessed to be able to do what I am passionate about and be living my dream, but at the same time, I was suffering some serious burnout. I needed to recharge my battery.
My girlfriend has an amazing Luxury, wellness retreat in the beautiful Idyllwild Mountains called Between Two Pines. I decided since my birthday was coming up, I needed to take things into my own hands and go for a little rest & relaxation. I could NOT have picked a better place to disconnect and get my lust for life back!
As soon as you make the drive from San Diego to Idyllwild through the 243 and see the nature and beauty of the mountains, you start to feel a little lighter in spirit. As soon as we arrived at Between Two Pines, we were blown away by the charm and the beauty! The decor is gorgeous and the energy in the house is warm and inviting. (I am big on energies in places)
I spent my time taking full advantage of the amenities and things to do while I was staying here. The house offers a dry sauna, a cool stream outdoor shower, A cold plunge pool, a jacuzzi, and an infrared sauna inside the master bedroom! There is a balancing ritual they recommend that you do here using the healing traditions of hot & cold therapy to naturally stimulate your lymphatic system and start your journey of “healing.”
Let’s just say I took full advantage of this! You start with the cold stream shower to balance your body’s temperature, then hit the jacuzzi or sauna to increase the body’s temperature, then cool down in the icy plunge pool. (I tapped into my inner viking here and actually loved the plunge. It was probably my favorite part and the most invigorating.) You repeat this 2-3 times. It really sped up my metabolism and made me feel like I had released a ton of negative energy!
I started my day with some quiet mediation, then went on a hike in the mountains of Idyllwild. There are so many hikes to go on of all different levels and I really soaked in the views and the sounds of nature.
