Moment of Truth: Week 3 of my new diet/cleanse nutrition program with Lisa from Glide Training.

I’m on a mission to lose my fat & 10 lbs and Lisa from Glide Training is helping me! The last 3 years have been a DOOZY! I have put on about 15 lbs and for someone that has been in tip top shape her whole life, it can be pretty depressing. Especially when I always had control over my body and losing weight was not an issue for me.

I played sports my whole life, from tennis, to the only girl on my little league baseball team, to basketball and field hockey! I even played Field Hockey at the college level.

In college I became a certified aerobics instructor and taught step aerobics! After gaining the old “freshman 15” my first year of college, I worked my BUTT off to go from 137 lbs, to 117 lbs. I vowed I would NEVER be that out of shape again or feel that uncomfortable with my body. Remember, I am small people, I am only 5 ‘3 and 1/2 inches and that 1/2 really means a lot to me for crying out loud. HAHAH:) I just look taller because I am never without my 6 inch heels:) I still get carded in my workout clothes because I look like a little kid. (Hey I am not complaining)

High School Field Hockey

I gave up alcohol in college and became the designated driver for my friends for 6 months. I also ran 4-5 miles about 5 times a week as well as consistently working out 3-4 times a week. Yes it was hard but I became a lean and mean machine.

After college I moved out to San Diego and continued an active lifestyle. I ended up trying pilates and went on a high protein diet in 2001 and was in the best shape of my life. I weighed in at 110 lbs and I felt unbelievable. I actually got certified a few years later as a pilates instructor and taught for 2 years. I realized I did not LOVE teaching it so I ended up not continuing as an instructor.

When I started my company The Pulse, I was also working full time in the corporate world so I was working all day in Sales and Marketing for a Fortune 500 company, top 10% in the nation, and then I was doing the Pulse on nights and weekends as a passion project.

When I made the leap 3 years later from the old corporate gig, to just working at the Pulse, I found myself working more hours than ever as an entrepreneur, and having a lot more stress in my life. I am sure you can relate. Most of my entrepreneur friends can. At this time I called this the “Pulse Baby Weight.” I thought I would have so much more time not working 2 jobs but when you are doing what you love, you put your heart and soul into it.

So the last few years, I have struggled with hormone issues, adrenal issues, misdiagnosis of my thyroid, supplement overload, a lack of good sleep, weight gain, and a constant quest for why I felt off, lethargic, and just not like myself.

I found out I had food allergies, and was allergic to Gluten. I cut gluten, dairy, and eggs from my diet. Guess what, I gained 7 lbs. Really? How does this happen to me? Everyone I know that cut out all of this lost weight in an instant. Not me, my body was hanging on to all the weight and fat like a kid in a candy store.

I then when on a Vegan diet and cut ALL meat from my diet. Did I feel better, YES, did I lose weight? NO!

Needless to say, this entire time I am on camera constantly and we all know the camera adds 10 lbs right away so it’s not fun first waking up and not feeling like yourself, but then going to work and seeing yourself on camera and feeling even worse about yourself. I am not going to mention the not fitting into any of my clothes, that is another story.

Long story short, I met Lisa from Glide on social media, and we became friends. She is also a member of my Networking Group, Elite Networking. We got to talking about my issues and she recommended a plan for 30 days to help me jumpstart my fat burning, my metabolism, and get me on track to lose weight.

I started all this on December 17th. I know you are thinking WHY ON EARTH START DURING THE HOLIDAYS??? I was ready for a change and 2018 could not come soon enough!

Basically Lisa created a meal plan for me based on the foods I eat and like, and balanced all my macro nutrients for me so my body was getting the right balance of fat, protein, and carbs at each meal. She put the plan together and I just had to shop and prepare the meals for the week. Super easy! The hardest thing for me is cutting back on my wine! You all know I love my wine. I only drink maybe 2 times a week now and only a glass or 2!

I was to eat 5 meals a day (every 2-3 hours) and 2 of those meals, being a meal replacement Isagenix shake. Then 1 day a week I do a cleanse day which is comprised of coffee in the morning, any type of broth you want to drink/sip on all day, 2 apples, and the Isagenix cleanse for life, which you drink 4 times per day on this day! You take your accelerator in the mornings and afternoons, and you take your adaptogens and your flush at night.

I will admit, it was not easy, as MOMMA was hungry at first, and the accelerator made me feel sick, so I cut it out for a bit. Now I just take one in the morning and that works for me. I am eating between 1500-1300 calories on days I am active an a little less on days I am not burning enough calories. The cool thing is Lisa and I make tweaks on the program every week so we know what is working and not working. So far so good and I am happy with the results 3 weeks in! Down 1 inch in all measurements of my body

It took me about 3 weeks to notice something, but everyone is different.

We are all too hard on ourselves and I just want to be happy with me:)

-at least 10,000 steps a day, and keeping up with the meals and the meal plan.

I have 1 more week to go for my 30 day program, then I will tweak this and go from there. I promise to keep you posted and I would LOVE your feedback on this. I am still on my quest for balance, better sleep, and making myself a priority and I will continue that path!
