Hey folks! So I am one of those people that has a very hard time quieting my mind. I have tried everything from yoga to long walks, to runs, you name it.
This brain just keeps working. I am a very empathetic person naturally, so I noticed I am sensitive to frequencies, noises, things that some people do not pick up on. I am the type of person that goes into a supermarket and knows every exit, and notices everyone, their mannerisms, what is happening, their energies, the whole enchilada.
I have even felt such negative energy from people that I have literally left an aisle immediately. Does this happen to you?
I have mediated before and I have also experimented with Tibetan Healing bowls which I really love! It is just hard to turn off the empire building, always on to the next task mind.
I really needed to do something with my work schedule being so insane and working 7 days a week. I committed to the 21 Day Meditation challenge with Oprah and Deepak Chopra.
I have done this before, a few years ago and I really loved it. So I did it and I fully 100% committed, you know thats the only way I roll.
I started with my meditations in the morning after my coffee, and that I realized that did not work so well, as my supplements and coffee had already kicked in and I was AWAKE and my mind was already going. I take E3Live Brain on in the morning with a variety of supplements and let me tell you, my brain was ON!
The other thing I struggled with was the DRAGONS, my two beautiful furry babies, Isabella and Romeo. They wanted to meditate with me in my room and would jump on my yoga mat and make some noise.
Eventually, they did mellow out and I was able to meditate with them but a few times I had to kick them out so I could be focused!
I tried at night after the day but I felt like this was strange because you want to take the mantra and the intention into the whole day, not wait until the end of the day.
I tried upstairs in a different location, I lit candles, I lit sage, you name it, I tried it. Let’s be real, I am probably NOT the world’s best meditator, which is ok as I do NOT have to be great at everything. The point is I committed and I did see results. The results were pretty eye opening and I want to share them with you.
When I started meditating, I thought quite a bit about my old dog Mr. Bing who was my first dog that was mine from the time he was a puppy. He was my ultimate sidekick and we were inseparable. I got him on the East Coast where I am from when he was 5 weeks old and we spooned from the 1st time I brought him home. It was LOVE at first site. He was with me through thick and thin and traveled with me everywhere I went. We spent 16 1/2 years together before I lost him.
About 2 weeks into my meditation, I started seeing this hummingbird in my yard. I had seen hummingbirds before, but this one was different. It kept following me, watching me, and landing on branches and on the fence right in front of me. I was actually able to film it and photograph this amazing bird. It kept meeting me at my car in the driveway and at slow speed so I could see it. It would be in the backyard waiting for me. So strange but amazing!!
There is a bit of history on hummingbirds and the spiritual meaning behind them. Hummingbirds are known to carry messages from the Angels or someone that has passed over.
Hummingbird Messengers are also known to help you if you can tune into their healing light and presence of love. (the sound their wings give off is very healing)
Quite often our Angels and loved ones in Spirit choose hummingbirds to relay their messages.
They may guide hummingbirds to hum to validate their spiritual presence and to send us signs and reminders to follow our joy, stand in the light, and stay present in the moment.
This was VERY eye opening to me as I was saying everyday of my meditation, “Only Light and Love will enter my space” and I am open to all “Light and Love.”
Apparently according to several sources, your loved ones in Heaven may choose a hummingbird to enter your space as a validation and assurance that they are well and their soul lives on.
Some other symbolism of the Hummingbird according to the Astrology Web:
In Native American Culture
A hummingbird carries different symbolic meanings among the Native American tribes. It is alternatively seen as a healer, a bringer of good luck and also as a fire-bringer. In closing, I guess what I wanted to convey, is that I noticed quote a few benefits from my meditation. I noticed things that I had not noticed in a LONG time. The roses, the sunlight, the wind on my face, the birds, the sunset, the calmness of the moment. I was more in the present moment and able to appreciate it. I also noticed that I needed to stop being on my phone every second and start engaging with my dogs and my loved ones, and take those times to really appreciate them.
I also noticed that I put out an intention that day, and things really started to manifest for me. I felt calmer, cooler, more collected, and overall MORE HAPPY and grateful.
I would love to hear from you and get your feedback on meditation and your experience with it! Let me know what it means to you and how it has affected or changed your life.
Until then, I will be implementing this in my day and taking the time to be still and present in the moment.
