The Pulse welcomed Laura MacKinnon and Luis Carranza from the Rancho Santa Fe Rotary Club!

Laura and Luis spoke to us about their 7th Annual Taste of Rancho Santa Fe, happening on Sunday October 6th from 4-7PM at the Inn At Rancho Santa Fe!

Guests of this event will have an opportunity to stroll around the historic and iconic grounds of The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe while sampling fine wines and beverages from the Rancho Santa Fe area.

The tickets are $125.00 and the proceeds go back to several amazing non profit organizations! You can buy them at the door for $175.00.

Last years event!

Last year they had over 700 attendees!

We also spoke to Luis and Laura about the Rotary Club and what it means for them to be involved and to make a difference in the community.

About Luis:
2019 Taste of Rancho Santa Fe – Chairman

Mortgage expert of 22 years and lifelong music lover, former 1st violinist of the San Diego Youth Symphony, Past President of the Rancho Santa Fe Rotary Club & current Chairman of the 2019 Taste of Rancho Santa Fe fundraising event.

Luis Carranza, an expert Mortgage Advisor with twenty two years experience with PrimeLending in San Diego, has built his career on three simple principals. Constant honesty. Endless support. Open communication.

Known for his persistence and ability to think outside the box, Luis attributes much of his success to product knowledge. Having worked at both large banking institutions and boutique brokerages, he has a talent for assembling creative financing solutions and connections to dozens of private investors. Reviews from numerous Real Estate Agents reiterate his gift for finding niche programs and qualifying buyers with unique needs.

Additionally, Luis has been a volunteered in difference charitable causes with the Rancho Santa Fe Rotary Club for 15 years and is currently Assistant District Governor for Rotary International District 5340.

Laura MacKinnon:
Chairman of RSF Rotary Foundation

Laura expressed a passion to make a difference in people’s lives at an early age. She volunteered at the Special Olympics and played piano concerts at the CECUT- Centro Cultural de Tijuana to help raise funds for children and under-served families at 14 years of age. She received an education through an academic and athletic scholarship, for soccer, at Notre Dame de Namur University and pursued a double major in Political Science and History.

In 2006 Laura co-founded and became the Chief Financial Officer for a small wealth management firm focused in the San Francisco Bay area. In 2010 Laura returned to her roots and for the past five years has dedicated her career to helping children and military families by working in the nonprofit sector. She formerly served as the Chief Development Officer for SYEVF, an educational nonprofit which presented the opportunity to be mentored by and assisted Retired Admiral William Rodriguez in building a foundation with the support from junior enlisted military as mentors for the youth. Laura joined STEP in 2015 as the Director of Development and continues to pursue her passion of raising funds for under-served military families.

In addition to her dedication to nonprofit organizations, Laura is also involved in community organizations throughout San Diego county and currently is a member of the Rancho Santa Fe Rotary club in which she serves as the Vice President of the RSF Foundation Board and is the club’s grant writer, she serves on the board of Coma Survivors Foundation and is a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Laura is the mother of three beautiful young girls in which she is instilling the passion to give back and make a positive impact in community.
