The Pulse welcomed Dr. Kat Gallus from Restore Plastic Surgery and Sarina Moretti Director of Sales, Special Events at the Observatory North Park

Kat educated our viewers on her amazing concierge type practice which is veteran owned and An ALL female practice! Literally one of the only ones in San Diego.

She also explained the latest in procedures that do not require Anesthesia, like awake liposuction.

Dr. Katerina Gallus is an experienced and accomplished board certified female plastic surgeon who enjoys the opportunity to impact patients’ lives in a positive way via the ever-evolving science and technology in modern plastic surgery. Dr. Gallus offers compassionate care and informed choices, taking the time to listen to your goals and create a treatment plan that is tailored to your individual vision of beauty.

Dedicated to serving others, she began her education with a Bachelor of Science from Duke University while on academic and ROTC scholarships. She pursued her dream of becoming a doctor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland where she met and married her husband. A Naval Academy graduate himself, the newly married couple set out for a career in Navy Medicine after completing medical school. They both completed General Surgery Residency at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. Although achieving board certification in general surgery was a milestone, Dr. Gallus went on to pursue her dream of training in the field of Plastic Surgery. She completed her Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In 2006, Dr. Gallus returned to the Naval Medical Center San Diego double boarded in Plastic Surgery and General Surgery. She and her husband started their family in between multiple deployments. She deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom at a forward base in Afghanistan, providing immediate surgical trauma support to our wounded soldiers and sailors. Upon return from deployment in 2011 she had their third daughter and settled into senior leadership roles at the Navy Medical Center.

In addition to providing plastic and reconstructive care to our nation’s sailors, Marines, retirees, and their families, Dr. Gallus was the program director for the Transitional Year Residency, training nearly 100 young Navy physicians. A natural leader, she chaired the Plastic Surgery Department for three years and set a new standard as the Specialty Leader for the entirety of Navy Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Katerina Gallus is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has over a decade of experience in cosmetic breast and body surgery, facial rejuvenation and, breast reconstruction. She offers a concierge consultation experience and positive surgical encounter for every patient. A trusted surgeon, her opinions are nationally respected, and she is a requested expert for meetings, panels, and journal articles.

Sarina Moretti and Emily Sloan came in for a fun interactive segment on the 2nd Annual Mad Hatter’s Ball held at the Observatory in North Park.

Em mixed up “The singing Lady” Cocktail, one that was created for the event. The ladies also gave us the scoop on what to expect at this event that brings in over 1000 people who attend!

Sarina Moretti is the creator and event producer of North Park Carnival, which hosts a series of formal theme parties at The Observatory North Park. The North Park Carnival is now in its third year of delivering unique immersive events to San Diego.

Sarina is the Director of Sales for Special Events for Live Nation at The Observatory North Park, The Magnolia, and The Observatory Santa Ana. Designing client’s events for 8 years has culminated in this iconic annual event, The Mad Hatter’s Ball, which Sarina views as her favorite outlet for creative expression.

About the Mad Hatter’s Ball:

F all down the rabbit hole into evening of spectacular circus entertainment, dancing and dj music, costumes, and curious activities. This formal hat party-gone-mad will feature a whimsical variety show set in an immersive Wonderland atmosphere with art installations, activities, drinks, and curiosities. O ur host the Mad Hatter will introduce a variety show of mesmerizing acrobats, aerialists, burlesque dancers, and circus acts who will have you believing the impossible.

The Mad Hatter’s Ball returns in its second year with a darker twist on Wonderland with the theme “We’re All Mad Here” following a tale of Alice exploring her unabashing, defiant nature once she witnesses the impossible.

Guests may start the evening’s adventure by reserving a 3-course prix fixe dinner in West Coast Tavern. The Dinner + Show package includes an appetizer, entree, dessert, cocktail, and direct event entry. For the truly mad, a tea-party-inspired VIP Bottle Service experience offers premium seating to view the show in style.

All guests are encouraged to dress to impress by dusting off their finest hat to pair with evening wear. Gowns, suits, Wonderland inspired attire, Victorian and steampunk costuming, and elaborate hats are welcomed. A main feature of the evenings affairs is the Best Hatter contest on stage, where guests can win prizes for their impressive creations!

This marks North Park Carnival’s fourth event in a series of upscale theme parties at The Observatory North Park — highlighting the charm of the historic 1928-built venue with larger than life formal events. Based on the notion that guests deserve a fully immersive nightlife experience, parties combine a stunning stage show with indulgent dining and activities.
