Live Show March 5th

Sponsored by Flax4life and Coffee Ambassador:

We welcomed:

Kim Shinner Program Director, B4BC (Boarding for Breast Cancer)

Kim is a seasoned professional in the nonprofit and action sports industries with over a decade of experience in marketing and program management. She has been connected with B4BC for 20 years and her cousin, Lisa Hudson, is a co-founder of the organization.

The connection with B4BC is what educated her at a young age about the importance of early detection and self breast exams. Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 29 and credits B4BC with helping to save her life.

Kim spoke about the Love Your Peaks Initiative and how you can get involved!
Since 1998, B4BC has been hosting grassroots prevention events in partnership with local mountains. The goal is to promote a healthy, active lifestyle as the best means of breast cancer prevention while raising funds for our education, prevention, and survivorship programs.

They are celebrating their 25th Anniversary!!

This year B4BC celebrates its 25th anniversary. In October B4BC is planning a celebration to commemorate all the work B4BC has done over the last 25 years to help support breast cancer survivors and breast cancer awareness and prevention.

Chasing Sunshine Wellness Retreats:
B4BC has, over the past two decades, been offering mountain and ocean wellness retreats to young breast cancer survivors and thrivers alike. These empowering, intimate retreats hold space for the women to pause and reflect on their breast cancer journey in a positive, supportive setting, reconnecting with themselves through nature’s healing touch. Encinitas, CA has hosted several of our ocean retreats. We look forward to returning to the coast soon and seeing smiling faces of survivors.

B4BC History:
The inspiration for the B4BC Foundation was a young woman named Monica Steward, who started her battle with breast cancer at the age of 26. She passed two years later from complications that arose from a delayed diagnosis.

Monica was part of the early snowboard industry, and urged her friends in snowboarding to use their platform as a way to raise awareness for this disease among young women. Leading the charge was Lisa Hudson, a friend of Monica’s. Along with Dawn Kish, Kathleen Gasparini and others, they rallied the leaders in the industry from board, clothing and media companies for their support in honor of Monica. In April 1996, the first ever B4BC Snowboard + Music Festival was born, with pro snowboarders Tina Basich and Shannon Dunn as spokeswomen.

The event centered around their passions of snowboarding and music, while highlighting the importance of education on early detection of the disease. Sadly, Monica passed away right before the event but her spirit shined on that day in a celebration of life and love.

We also welcome Maria Von Losch, Content Creator | Blog & Social Media Coach

People are saying this exclusive invitation-only social networking app is a hybrid of conference calls, talkback radio and Houseparty

Maria gave us tips on how to maximize your use on here and how to utilize the app!

We also talk about the security issues and how to invite friends to participate!
