Those of you that know me know I like the glamourous look of fake lashes especially being on camera and attending many events in San Diego. Over the last year I have been hearing about lash extensions and my friends experience with them. I toyed around with the idea of trying them but was a bit skeptical. I learned about Blink Lash Boutique from a local PR firm and did my research on them. After learning about the 2 owners, Janelle and Jen, I decided to give it a try and see if they could convert me to a lash extension girl. I have to tell you that what I love about this salon is they don’t mess around with detail and quality. All the lash technicians go through an extensive training/apprenticeship program before they even touch the lashes of a client. They believe in quality control and taking their time with each client. They were actually one of the first lash extension salons in San Diego, and Janelle Koch started this in 2008 in a tiny room in Mission Valley! She brought on co-owner Jen Pearson in 2010 and they have grown this one room business into 3 locations, Mission Valley, downtown, and Solana Beach! I spent a few hours with Jen who explained to me that they tailor the sets of lashes to each client. After reviewing the condiiton of my lashes and the length, we decide to go with a full set of the “Bombshell” which is around 85 individual lashes per eye. The process took a little under 2 hours but I was laying down relaxing the entire time. Most of Jen’s clients actually fall asleep during this process because it is so relaxing and doesn’t hurt a bit! I have to say that I am 100% thrilled with the results and now I do not need mascara or fake lashes. I wake up in the morning feeling glamorous and my boyfriend can’t stop complementing me on how great my lashes look which is an added perk! Jen and Janelle also carry some amazing products in their salon, one of my favorite’s is the GlamGlow mask used by celebrities before theu go on the red carpet!
