Yes most people do not know how HUGE of a music fan I have always been. Music has been the soundtrack of my life forever. I have loved Scott Weiland since I first heard him come on the scene with Stone Temple Pilots. I continued to love him and was stoked when he joined the super group Velvet Revolver. He has had negative press over the years but I have got to tell you, I never doubted him and I love his new sound and his new band The Wildabouts. They rock! With his amazing band, including Tommy Black on lead guitar, Jeremy Brown on Bass, and Dan Thompson on the drums, this group really seems to gel! They were having fun on stage and got the crowd dancing and hollering right off the bat.
They played songs from STP as well as some from Velvet Revolver. I have to say their originals are pretty fabulous too. I love “Way She Moves” which is from their upcoming album. It is a rock album for sure and it almost has a psychedelic indie-rock vibe to it. Weiland still has the moves and the on stage presence of the quintessential front man he has always been. He worked his magic with the megaphone and was interacting quite a bit with the crowd.
We recently had the chance to get up close with them at Sycuan Casino and hear their new album which will be released in 2015. This guy is a rock god still! He sounded better than ever and I was blown away by the performance. You have to check these guys out. For Tour dates go to: http://www.scottweiland.com/#tour
I have to mention that Sycuan Casino is an amazing venue to see a band. There is not a bad seat in the house. Big thank you to the staff who was really nice and worked with us getting us the best spots to shoot the band from.
