We were excited to welcome Tyson and his dog Harley to the Live show and find out about his passion for creating this onesie for dogs.

He demonstrated how easy it is to put on and all the benefits associated with it.

He also gave us the exclusive on his new product The Shed Defender Sport!

“The Shed Defender Sport was inspired by customer feedback we’ve received over the last couple of years,” said Tyson Walters, CEO and founder of Shed Defender.

“Customers love using the Shed Defender to keep their dog clean or protect their dog from ticks, fleas, stickers and burrs while outside. Dogs with medical issues such as allergies or skin issues were also using it outside, so we saw a need to design a product that would be more beneficial for dogs who want to stay protected while enjoying the outdoors.”

The Shed Defender Sport expands on the benefits of the original product. Uses include:

Stay Shed Free: The Shed Defender Sport contains pet hair and dander, helping dog owners everywhere keep their house, car and everywhere clean!

Keep Ticks, Stickers and Burrs Out: The Shed Defender Sport can provide protection against ticks, fleas, burrs, stickers and more.

No More Cone of Shame: The Shed Defender Sport can cover surgical sites and hotspots and provide protection for dogs with skin conditions, reducing the need for the cumbersome medical cone.

UV Protection: The Shed Defender Sport provides UV protection for hairless dogs and dogs with thin coats.

Doggy Door Convenience: Shed Defender Sport allows dogs to go potty without unzipping, which provides an added layer of convenience for homes with doggy doors.

Reduce Anxiety: With a snug fit the Shed Defender Sport can reduce anxiety in some dogs.
Snow Protection: Ice balls be gone! The Shed Defender prevents a dog’s fur from freezing into ice balls when worn in the snow.

About Shed Defender:

At Shed Defender, we are focused on helping dogs and their owners coexist safely and comfortably while promoting a clean and healthy lifestyle. Our flagship, the Shed Defender Original, is a onesie for dogs that contains pet hair, reduces anxiety and can replace the medical cone for dogs with hotspots, surgical sites, skin conditions and allergies.

The Shed Defender Original is made from a lightweight, breathable and eco-friendly fabric that keeps dogs cool and comfortable. Our newest product is the Shed Defender Sport which features the same great fabric as the original product, but is open underneath underneath eliminating the need to unzip for potty breaks. The Shed Defender Sport is designed to make it easier for dogs to use the bathroom while on walks, hikes or enjoying the dog park or beach. It’s more convenient for homes with doggy doors or dogs who spend more time outside.

Whether you’re looking to keep your couch free from dog hair or protect your dog from ticks while camping this summer, Shed Defender has the solution you need.

About Tyson Walters:

I came up with the idea for the Shed Defender back in 2011 because my St. Bernard Harley was shedding everywhere and there was no way to contain it. There were tumble weeds of hair in my car and all over my apartment. I tried every product on the market and nothing worked so I decided to come up with something completely different.

My goal was to develop a onesie that went on the dog so that I could contain Harley’s hair effectively and safely.

My mom sewed the first model and from there I spent years perfecting the Shed Defender, testing out different fabrics and designs. Harley wore the Shed Defender around town and family, friends and fellow dog lovers kept asking where they could get one of their own. The feedback and requests I got inspired me to launch the website and offer the Shed Defender to dog lovers everywhere!
