Laurence Fishburne Received the Gregory Peck Award!
The Pulse is on the Red Carpet at the Annual Tribute to The Stars Event at the Pendry Hotel, which is one of the biggest events for The San Diego International Film Festival.
San Diego International Film Festival is the region’s premier film event and one of the leading stops on the independent film circuit, with 200+ filmmakers gathering in San Diego to show their films every year.
The Festival has grown over 500% since artistic director, Tonya Mantooth took over in 2012!
We were honored to be on the red carpet for the exclusive interviews with the A-List celebrities that attended the event.
PINCH ME, we had the opportunity to interview one of our ALL time favorite stars, Laurence Fishburne, who received the Gregory Peck Award!
He is an Actor, producer and director and made his debut on the television show “One life to Live”
at 10 years old!
From Apocalypse Now to Whats Love Got to do with it, we have been in awe of him!
He has been nominated 23 times for the NAACP Image Awards with 5 wins under his belt, and most recently for Blackish on ABC which he also produces.
With his production company, Cinema Gypsy productions he is excited to produce top quality content and we got to speak to him about this and his career in general!
Jared Harris Receives The VanGuard Award
We love everything Jared Harris does, from TV, film and his fabulous stage career!
He was most recently seen in HBO’s 5-part miniseries, Chernobyl, which earned him a Primetime Emmy
Nomination. The show won an Emmy and we talked to Jared about this.
We are personally obsessed with his work in Carnival Row and Mad Men!
Lindsay Wagner Receives the Humanitarian Award
Lindsay broke the mold for women on tv with the Bionic Woman!! We watched it and LOVED it. I mean the Bionic man with Lee Majors and she gave him a run for his money!
Lindsay is known as “The Queen of TV Movies,” and her films and docu-dramas have covered so many important topics from domestic violence to capital punishment.
We talk to her about how it felt to make an impact as a female when she was the Bionic woman and how she was way ahead of her time.
Jillian Bell Receives the Fairbanks Award
We had a blast talking with Jillian Bell who won the Fairbanks Award this year.
Jillian is our GirlCrush and we love everything about her. We find out how she feels about making an impact on Hollywood, Kelly Calrkson, and the Dateline Podcast!
Camila Morrone Received the Rising Star Award
We love Argentine American Actress Camila Morrone and boy did she look stunning on the red carpet!
She played ‘Mickey’ in Annabelle Attanasio’s MICKEY AND THE BEAR, the Critically acclaimed drama that made its debut at SXSW Film festival.
She has also worked with Eli Roth on Death Wish with Bruce Willis!
We chose not to ask her about Leo DiCaprio, because frankly, we feel she is carries enough weight with her true talent!
Congrats to her as she was chosen as breakthrough artist at the Hampton’s Film Festival too! We cannot wait to watch her star soar!!
Amy Smart & Carter Oosterhouse (Amy presented the Chris Brinker Award)
We loved chatting with Amy Smart & Carter Oosterhouse at the San Diego Film Festival tribute to the stars event. Amy was presenting an award at the event The Chris Brinker Award, to a Film maker whose work is as high caliber as San Diego Native Director, Chris Brinker who passed away too soon.
We find out how she felt to be a part of this night and give the award to Ravin Ghandi. We also talk to them about making an impact with Carter’s non profit, Carter’s Kids.
