We love to get our hike on and love this dog friendly, family friendly hiking trail.
Located off black mountain road in San Diego, it is about 7.3 miles and is a loop.

Pretty flat accept for some river rocks! You pay 3.00 to park and take off!
Lots of nature, bikers and horses on the trail too. There is a waterfall at the end!!
There is also some shade but go early during the summer!
Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve is an urban park in San Diego, California. Stretching approximately 7 miles, the park encompasses some 4,000 acres of both Peñasquitos and Lopez canyons, and is one of the largest urban parks in the United States.
