We start out talking with General Manager Frank Iannuzzi who give us the scoop on the property he has been working for for over 20 years!
He talks about the accommodations, the experience, what you can expect here!
We personally love the 2 bedroom cottages! They have an amazing view of the lake!
We got to kick back at the end of the night, put our feet up and enjoy s’mores by our fire pit!
The hotel was originally constructed in the mid-1960’s with only 75 guest rooms. In 2013, the hotel was transformed with sweeping upgrades.
Despite extensive renovations, the hotel retains its retro charm with nostalgic activities such as s’mores roasting, hula hoop contests, board games and a lobby library.
We also sit down with Emilio Muslija, co founder of Amalfi Cucina Italiana and executive chef and Partner Marcello Avitabile to talk about their inspiration for the restaurant and the amazing food and drink items they serve here.
Amalfi has 2 dining options, Amalfi Marina Bar offers casual American cuisine and a full bar right on the water at beautiful Lake San Marcos.
You can also eat upstairs at Amalfi Cucina Italiana which offers authentic Italian cuisine, elegant ambiance and an extensive wine selection.
Oh and they are known for their Gluten free Pizza, which is out of this world!
We end our first day on a venetian gondola ride on the lake with owner of Black Swan Gondola, Drew Sainte Marie.
The Black Swan Gondola Company provides San Diego gondola cruises and was founded on the idea of merging the Venetian culture with Lake San Marcos to showcase the beauty of San Diego. One of the first things that comes to mind when you think of Venice, Italy is that it’s the city of romance.
That same romance is alive in this picturesque San Diego lake town with its’ own beauty and grace.

DAY 2:
We spend our second day enjoying all the activities of the Lake and the Golf courses!
We start out with Jarrod Moiles, Director of Food and Beverage/Executive Chef at the Lakehouse Resort, St Mark Golf & Tap in Tavern.
Jarrod takes us out on the lake for some fun!
We then head over to the Grill at St Mark Golf Club to show you what inspires Jarrod for the menu here and what their signature dishes are.
Just footsteps off the golf course, the Grill offers a variety of great foods and specials.
They are open every day!
The Grill offers breakfast from 7am to 11am, lunch from 11am to 5pm, and dinner from 5pm to close.

Sun-Th 7am to 9pm
Fri-Sat 7am to 10pm
GOLFING:
We go from here to a private golf lesson with golf pro Kevin Ulrich at the executive course at the St Mark Golf Course!
Nestled in the coastal foothills of north San Diego County near Lake San Marcos, St. Mark Golf Club is a 6,400 yard mature golf course open to the public located at Lakehouse Hotel and Resort in North San Diego.
