In collaboration with Mattel, the project is spearheaded by Bucket Listers President of Experiences, Derek Berry (the mastermind also behind pop-up phenomena Saved by the Max, The Golden Girls Kitchen, Family Guy Experience, and the Blockbuster Experience).

The family-friendly pop-up restaurant and roller rink will be inspired by the groovy beachside energy of 1970s Malibu, a time of carefree summer days when Malibu Barbie was first introduced to the world.

From the décor to the menu, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to celebrate the iconic Barbie style.
Opening July 11th (Bayside Kitchen and Bar: 2137 Pacific Hwy, San Diego, CA 92101) the Malibu Barbie Cafe will allow guests to experience the ultimate form of BarbiecoreTM dining alongside a groovy roller rink worthy of Barbie herself.
Guests can expect a fast-casual menu (created by Master Chef finalist and Chopped Champion Chef Becky Brown) emphasizing all day friendly fare, delicious desserts, and a variety of drinks.

Comic Con 2025
If there is one thing we love to cover at The Pulse it is Comic Con!
Comic-Con International is a convention that features thousands of artists and celebrities in genres such as fiction and fantasy, film and television, comic books, toys, video games, webcomics, fantasy novels, and collectible card games.
It brings over 130,000 people to our city and is expected to generate over 160 million in revenue this year.
Here are some highlights from the event.
Paramount Lodge
The Lodge is back: Paramount+ returns to San Diego for its third year with its biggest, boldest, and most immersive activations yet during Comic-Con.
Taking over Happy Does in the Gaslamp District (340 5th Ave, San Diego), the interactive experience will be open to the public from Wednesday, July 23, through Sunday, July 27.
Paramount+’s The Lodge has welcomed tens of thousands of fans this year as part of its third annual cross-country tour. Now headed to its fourth stop in 2025, The Lodge will deliver the ultimate fan experience—complete with themed activations, exclusive giveaways, and can’t-miss moments from hit titles and franchises including STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS, LANDMAN, DEXTER: RESURRECTION, NCIS: TONY & ZIVA, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE, and CBS Sports, as well as a ‘pop-up’ from Pluto TV.
