We had the amazing opportunity to sit down with Ana Cristina Cash for an intimate conversation!
Ana Cristina Cash is a bilingual American singer-songwriter, first-generation Cuban-American, and Grand Ole Opry performer known for fusing country, pop, and Latin music.
She is also married to music producer John Carter Cash, the son of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash.
We talk about her latest release, “How Do I Live” featuring the English version and the Spanish rendition, “Como Vivir Sin Verte.” The dual release pays tribute to the song that helped shape her musical journey while honoring her country roots and Cuban-American and Spanish heritage.
Ana Cristina, explains to us how this song helped inspire her at age 11 to pursue country music!
This ballad, written by the iconic songwriter Diane Warren for the 1997 action film Con Air, “How Do I Live” famously spawned two simultaneous hit recordings—LeAnn Rimes’ and Trisha Yearwood’s—and became one of the most recognizable ballads of the 1990s.
Produced by Grammy-winning producer John Carter Cash and recorded at the legendary Cash Cabin studio in Hendersonville, Tennessee, Ana’s English and Spanish interpretations breathe new life into the song while honoring its enduring legacy.
Ana Cristina, a Miami native who moved to Nashville in 2010, signed with Sony Music Latin at just 15 years old!
She has built an expansive career that includes releasing a series of boundary-shattering albums and collaborating with legends from all corners of the music world, including Loretta Lynn, Latin superstars like Emilio Estefan Jr. and Chris Pérez of Selena Y Los Dinos and Grupo Metal.
We talk to Ana about some of these amazing experiences and collaborations and she shares some of her stories with us, including working with her husband John Carter Cash.
Ana and John collaborated on her her 2026 album The Sunshine State —a bilingual LP spotlighting and blending her country and Latin roots together for the first time.
The Sunshine State came to life at the famed Cash Cabin Studio (a home studio built by Johnny Cash in the late ’70s), where Ana joined forces with John Carter Cash and co-producer Willie Breeding.
Ana recently announced that “On My Radio”—the song she co-wrote with Jamie Grascal Johnson as a tribute to the late Bill Cody, the beloved WSM Radio personality, is now available on YouTube and will be available on streaming platforms in the coming weeks.
Ana and Jamie performed the song during Bill’s funeral at the Opry last month.
